Welcome to our aparthotel "Pension Serena" in Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic !

"Pension Serena", our small aparthotel in the quiet residential neighborhood of Ciudad Nueva in downtown Santo Domingo, is centrally located within only 5 minutes walking distance from the "Zona Colonial" (Colonial Zone), the historical city center with numerous buildings and monuments from the colonial age. 

Our small aparthotel (with only 9 studios) is under Swiss management and located next to the "Malecón" (Seafront Avenue or Avenida George Washington) and the internationally well known hotel "Napolitano".

We rent out to foreigners simply furnished budget studios (one room apartments) of various sizes equipped with at least one ceiling fan. Our studios are not air-conditioned. Mainly due to its central location in downtown Santo Domingo and the modest rates the aparthotel "Pension Serena" is a suitable place of good value to foreign budget travelers and permanent residents only disposing of a limited budget. We rent out our studios to foreign persons for months, weeks and - if they are available - only for days.

The studios in our aparthotel in Santo Domingo provide you with a small kitchen, a refrigerator and access to the local cable TV network covering about 80 local and international channels (among them some well known US-channels).

The rent for a studio includes all costs for cold water, electricity and cable TV. However, our aparthotel does not dispose of a generator should any power outages occur.

Once a week our studios are cleaned.

The monthly rent for a studio amounts to the equivalent of 240 USD in local currency ( RD Pesos). Our guests have to pay their rent for the entire period of their stay in advance (however, up to a maximum of one monthly rent) before moving into the studio. Our guests have to leave their studio until 12 a.m.on the day the rental period expires (Check out time).

Should any studios be available we rent them out for a period of less than one month for a dayly rate of 10 USD ( to be paid in local Dominican currency). The minimum rental period  amounts to 5 days, for less than 5 days we do not rent out our studios. We do not accept any payments of the rent in foreign currency or with personal checks. Payments of the rent have to be effected in cash in Dominican local currency (RD Pesos) ! We do not accept payments of the rent with credit cards !

IMPORTANT: We only accept reservations for our studios 7 days before the arrival date of our guests or later ! It is impossible to make a reservation at any earlier date.

Our guests have to move on time into a studio they have made a reservation for ! In case they do not do so an indemnity amounting to 4 dayly rents is due to be paid to us !
